Two wins out of two over Easter were secured following a narrow 1-0 win over Carlisle United at The Valley on Monday.

Sam Sodje, who is catching up with his on loan brother Akpo’s goals total secured the win that Phil Parkinson feels should’ve been greater, Parkinson told BBC London 94.9: “We had chances to kill it off today. We should have really won two or three nil but we didn’t take the chances.”

Most importantly we did win to leave ourselves in fifth place in the League 1 table but only two points behind Swindon in second. The Addicks boss knows it’s tight, and will remain that way but is happy to be in the pack and thinks our fairly experienced squad will help (as it did against Carlisle), Parkinson added: “We’re in a challenging position but it’s tight.

“It’s all about holding our nerve. We’ve got a lot of experience out on the pitch and you could sense that on the pitch today.”

Parky it’s as much down to you now to make sure we do hold our nerve. You’ve got to select the right people at the right time and make sure they do the job they’re meant to.
