Pardew Says Reid is Going Nowhere

Not for the first time this season Addicks boss Alan Pardew has praised Andy Reid, but also reaffirmed that he is going nowhere.

His form has been so good that it is understood that Premier League clubs could be queuing up to take him back to the top flight in January, but with Andy Reid himself recently saying he will stay until at least the end of the season, Alan Pardew has confirmed this will still be the case as he told the media: “I sat him down and told him I didn’t want to get to the January transfer window and lose him.

“I wanted him to commit himself for the season where he hopefully plays all year and has something to show for this at the end of it.

“This would be better for me, for him and the club. He agreed to do that, and fair play to him. At the moment that’s paying off. I wouldn’t be so bold as to say Andy’s the best in the division because there are some very good players in the Championship, but he’s certainly been our best player.”

It is clear that Alan Pardew wants him to stay, as do we, and providing he does stick to his word we will see him until the end of this season at least, however should (as we hope) we get back to the Premier League at the end of the season he should stay anyway.
