The Addicks have been linked with a move to bring Alex Song back to the Valley for another loan spell, but this is something that Alan Pardew has so far denied.

Alex Song, Arsenal’s 20-year-old Cameroonian midfielder, had a successful loan spell with the Addicks last season, but with our relegation to the Championship he returned to Arsenal, where he has featured in their first team this season, but reports suggest that he could be training with the Addicks, something that Alan Pardew has denied: ‘There’s no truth in the stories that Song has been training with us,’ Alan Pardew told the media.

However, although he might have denied that he is training with the Addicks a move has not been ruled out completely, Alan Pardew also said: ‘We are always interested in quality players but I don’t want to talk about people who are under contract at other clubs.’

The Addicks midfield is looking very good as it is, so the midfield would not really be an area I would be looking at. However, Alex Song is a quality footballer isn’t he.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on the Alex Song talk? Do you think there is a chance he might come back, if so would you want this? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

He is a quality midfielder isn’t he, so you would have to be a fool not to want him back wouldn’t you? But then who would miss out if he did return?

Yes he is good – but I felt he needed to ‘calm down’ a bit last season? Still only a lad though – he’ll get there. I can’t say I’ve noticed Pardew fib about things though? Hehe! And do we really need him?
