The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game between Southend United and Charlton Athletic this Boxing Day.

Southend United host Charlton Athletic on Tuesday December 26 for the game at Roots Hall and the match carries a 1pm kick off.

Referee: Graham Horwood
Assistant Refs: Daniel Cook and Marc Wilson
Fourth Official: Paul Kelly

Match Day referee Horwood has officiated 18 games in 2017/18, showing 59 yellow cards and one red card so far.

He took in 31 games in 2016/17 with a return of 113 yellow cards and six red cards.

He highest card count that season was nine yellows in the match between Southend United and Oxford United.

He took in twelve matches in 2015-16, and in those games he handed out a total of 46 yellow cards and four red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Leyton Orient and Portsmouth on Boxing Day with a total of five yellows shown, along with two reds.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of the players edge closer to automatic bans.
