I think I was as surprised as everyone else when I saw that new signing Joe Ledley who had been a Charlton player for just over 24 hours was starting in midfield alongside Darren Pratley and Conor Gallagher.
Unfortunately, his debut was one to forget as many fans have taken to Twitter to discuss his first performance in a Charlton shirt.
It was not an ideal start for Ledley as him and the team made the 257-mile trip up to The Riverside Stadium as a cold afternoon up north was made worse by the 1-0 defeat from a first minute Boro goal which shook the team to the core as they could not put in a good enough performance to produce an equaliser.
Apparently the problem with Ledley was the movement, he was just not with it enough, okay many can argue that he has not played a professional game since Agust 2018, but even so I think Bowyer should have been aware that Joe was not going to be putting in 100% into this game before starting him, but then again who else have we got?
Let’s take a look at what you said about his first game in a Charlton shirt
Woeful… but I accept he hasn't played for a while and was chucked in, but the point remains, woeful.

He hasn’t played a professional game in over a year, so personally I think he did alright, wast at the game but watched a bit of a live feed, and we seemed to be getting the ball up the pitch a little bit, so give time I think he could do well

Not up to match speed, slow poor decision making, but times looked good on the ball and a good passer of the ball, with match fitness he could be a key player. I was at the game.
