Charlton manager Lee Bowyer will meet with the new chairman Matt Southall tonight as they plan ahead for the future.
The news of this broke on Twitter this morning as Richard Cawley from The South London Press confirmed.
Lee Bowyer is meeting with Matt Southall tonight. Southall will be the new chairman if and when the ESI takeover of Charlton Athletic is completed.

The talks that will take place tonight will no doubt involve the overdue long term contract for Lee Bowyer after he signed a one-year extension in the summer where some heartbreaking confusion took place regarding the gaffers future at the club.
Under this new ownership which is yet to be confirmed by the EFL, we do expect stability to be a key factor in this takeover after five long and hard years under Roland Duchatelet’s terror reign finally looks to have an end in sight.
All we need to do now is wait for this EFL approval, but we also had news on how those talks are progressing and it seems to be going smoothly so far and taken a step closer.
My understanding is that ESI have had their interviews this week with the EFL.

I think if the EFL decided that they were not “fit and proper” something would have been said by now. The finishing touches are most likely being put in place, but whatever that involves remains to be seen.
It’s not far away now, Roland is almost gone for good.
