Former Charlton keeper Dimitar Mitov has found himself a new club, the Bulgarian has agreed a deal with League Two side Cambridge following his Addicks release.

One of five players informed they wouldn’t be offered fresh terms at SE7 by boss Karl Robinson, the others being Roger Johnson, Adam Chicksen, Terell Thomas and Chris Millar, Mitov was released by Charlton last month.

However, the Bulgarian will now have the chance to get his career back on track after failing to make a first team appearance during his time at the Valley.

U21 international, Mitov has taken the positives from his time at Charlton and hopes that experience will help him at the Abbey Stadium.

Quoted by the BBC Mitov said: ‘I’m really happy to get this over the line and I just want pre-season to start now. I can take plenty of experience from my time at Charlton as I spent a lot of time around the first-team there.’

Mitov, 20, has agreed a two year deal at Cambridge.
