Charlton allowed a lead to slip at Millwall on Good Friday with our London rivals coming back from a goal-down to beat us two-one at the Den, meaning they beat us – of all teams! – to win at home for the first time since October, in a game that we ended with 10-men following Solly’s dismissal.

If Millwall do end up avoiding Championship relegation, of course something we’ll hope they can’t, then they may well point to this game at the catalyst for this survival – others can decide their fate but if this isn’t used as a fillip to spur them on then nothing will….

When Solly, with less than half an hour played, was sent off for what was deemed handballing a goalbound effort a penalty was also awarded. Gregory’s spot kick was saved by Ireland international ‘keeper Henderson to make sure we went into the break level, at least in terms of the scoreline!

Diarra (67) followed up his pre-match talks with his first goal for us to put us ahead at the midway point of the second half, neatly finishing off from a Fox cross.

With time ticking away Gueye (79) came off the bench to level and then with just three-minutes left he then set up Hooiveld (87) to score the winner to move Millwall to within four-points of Rotherham and Championship survival.

Following this defeat we stay around midtable but we’re too far from either the play-offs, 14-points adrift, or relegation, 18-points clear, to get involved in either scenario….
