Midfielder signs a new deal

|

Finally, we are starting to look to the future! I must say it has been hard looking at the number of players that are not tied down to contracts at Charlton it makes next season look impossible. But right now the future is looking a little more brighter in terms of who we will have here next season, Dillon Phillips signed a new deal and now George Lapslie has got himself a new contract until 2021 which is great!

Lapslie spoke to the club’s website and he said this: “I’m ecstatic, really. It makes me very proud of myself and what I’ve done. I’m sure my family are very proud. I’m going to try and kick on now and really establish myself in the team.”

Now that he has put pen to paper maybe a few others will follow? I hope Joe Aribo is next the sooner that happens the better because he is a player with immense quality behind him and having him here for next season makes the wait worthwhile.

Lee Bowyer also spoke about Joe Aribo’s contract talks: “With Joe, we are still trying to progress that. He was outstanding at the weekend – it was like he hadn’t been away. That’s one we’re desperately trying hard to all sort out.”

It looks like Joe might not be that willing to sign a new deal just yet seeing as he could defiantly attract interest from a Premier League club, but here’s to hoping!
