Midfielder Set For Deal

Charlton manager Alan Pardew is set to offer midfield trialist Dean Sinclair a year contract with the chance of an extention depending on performance.

Sinclair who has been on trail with The Addicks for the past two weeks left League 2 club Barnet at the end of last season after snubbing the offer of a new deal to stay at the north London club.

The 22-year old flew out with the Charlton squad for recent matches against Marbella and Malaga and also featured against Blue Square league minnows Welling United. It looks as if though he has done enough in these games to persuade Pardew a former Barnet and Charlton player himself to bring him in for Charlton’s Championship challenge.

Charlton will not get Sinclair for free though, even though the player is no longer under contract his age means that the SE7 club must pay Barnet a compensation package which would be in the region of £100,000.
