Well, he’s really gone and shown his true self today, hasn’t he? Matt Southall has suspended long-serving club secretary Chris Parkes over “contact with The EFL on Nimer’s behalf”.

This really is a shocking turn of events and for all this to just come out of nowhere so fast is not like us at all, but suspending Chris Parkes who has been at the club for over 30 years is a terrible move by Southall as the fanbase will now be on Nimer’s side 100% if the statement by Tahnoon didn’t shift the fanbase enough this is certainly a nail in the coffin for the Charlton chairman.
After all the promises made by him, I’m sure we all feel betrayed to learn the actions of someone who made us believe that we were truly on our way back and for all this to come out now during a relegation battle is surely something that will affect the team unless something is done to help the mood around the place before our massive game away at Hull City on Saturday.

Richard Cawley has shed some light on the suspension as he said he heard that Chris Parkes was on “Gardening Leave” which mean he will no longer have any involvement with the club up until his notice period, but will be paid for that notice period.
