The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Bristol Rovers this Saturday.

Charlton Athletic host Bristol Rovers on Saturday August 5 for the game at The Valley and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Christopher Sarginson
Assistant Refs: Dean Treleaven and Stuart Butler
Fourth Official: Christopher O’Donnell

Match Day referee Sarginson took in 41 games in 2016/17, with a return of 121 yellow cards and seven red cards.

His highest card count that year was eight yellows in the game between Millwall and Gillingham.

He took in 31 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 91 yellow cards and two red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Rochdale and Swindon Town on November 7 with a total of seven yellows being shown.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
