Looks Like Roland May Be Off Very Soon

|

The moment every Charlton fan has been waiting for may finally be here. Deluded owner Roland Duchatelet looks set to sell the club within the week as negotiations have advanced and the Aussies are the ones who are the consortium in those advanced stages.

Who knows if this is finally going to happen after eleven months of torture being in the dark about what’s going to happen, but it looks closer now than it’s ever been. This could mean money for Bowyer to spend in January which will boost us significantly if he knows who will be good for the club in our current set up.

Although we have not been taken over yet Lee Bowyer has had his eye on a couple targets that we know of one of them being from our south-London rivals, Crystal Palace. Welsh midfielder Johnny Williams is the man, he has fallen out of touch with The Eagles after being placed on numerous loans with teams such as MK Dons, Ipswitch and Sunderland. Williams has Championship experience and he definitely has the quality in him to bring us up from this league and I for one would like to see him in SE7.

The next man is former Man City, Bradford and Bury left-back Greg Leigh. The Englishman is currently in Holland with NAC Breda in the Eredivisie and may come back to England on a loan move to The Valley. Leigh also made his Bury debut against us and played 88 times for them. Honestly, I don’t know too much about him but if he wants to play for the club and wants to do well with us then get him in.

Going back to the takeover, TalkSports Jim White has reportedly spoken with Duchatelet about the takeover and he believes that it is not far away either. White conducted a very eye-opening interview with Duchatelet a couple of months back and since then the takeover talk has still been in the same position despite the media attention on the subject matter.  But finally it now  looks like our troubles could soon be over.
