Looking ahead to the Burton game

|

After a very impressive 2-1 victory over Portsmouth on the weekend, Charlton will host Burton Albion at The Valley as the Brewers visit The Valley for the first time since 7th of January 1956, where the Addicks won 7-0 in the FA Cup. Since those days Burton’s stock has increased, last season they were a Championship side which is something I think no one really excepted, but they got relegated in their debut season.

Charlton have another must-win game on their hands, if results go our way today we could see ourselves being 4th in the league and seven points behind 2nd placed Barnsley as they show no signs of slowing down as they face 3rd placed Sunderland tonight.

Let’s take a look at the visitors

Founded: 1950

Ground: Pirelli Stadium (6,912)

Manager: Nigel Clough

Top Scorer: Liam Boyce (10)

Last five game: DDLDW

By the looks of it, this game could easily be a draw, we have had a lot of draws this season (9) and with our performances starting to improve we hope to put another win on the board for us. If we are still serious about contending for an automatic place, then we have to win games like this.

In team news we have a couple new injuries ahead of tonight’s game, Krystian Bielik was taken off at half-time on Saturday with a tight Hamstring and later on Jonny Williams had to come off for the same thing so the both of them will not be featuring tonight which is a huge blow. Burton have no injury concerns ahead of this game.

I think if we can keep up the momentum gained from the Pompey win we can defiantly really give it to the Brewers and I think we can beat them 3-0 tonight, let’s hope I’m right!
