Charlton’s pre-season ended with a whimper as they lost to Inverness at the Valley in a testimonial game to Colin Powell, being marked for 30-years of service to the club.

Powell would have done well to stay awake on his big day and the former Addicks winger could have probably pulled on his boots now and offered up a little more than what was witnessed in the main on Saturday afternoon!

A goalless draw was on the cards until Josh Meekings won it late on for Terry Butchers side, his goal gave the Scottish outfit a 1-0 win and leaves Charlton boss Chris Powell with a bit of pondering to do ahead of the kick-off against Bournemouth.

Inverness: Brill; Raven, Shinnie (Tremarco 78), Warren, Meekings; Doran (Devine 85), Draper, Polworth, Vincent (Greenhalgh 72), Williams (Ross 53); McKay.
