Lee Bowyer reveals plans after disasterous display against Boro

|

Another disappointing defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough might have come as a slight shock to Charlton fans as Boro were dwindling around the relegation zone before yesterdays encounter.

Manager Lee Bowyer opted to start new signing Joe Ledley despite only being at Sparrows Lane for a week which was first reported here at Vital Charlton, but now we must take a look at what plans Bowyer has for Joe Ledley as he signs on for a month with The Addicks as he looks to get his career back on track for his final few years.

Speaking with The News Shopper Bowyer mentioned his plans for Joe Ledley

“He’ll bring experience, he’s got bundles of experience. It’s only a month’s contract. He’ll help us out bodies wise. We don’t have the bodies. He’ll bring his experience and help these young lads through this period.”

When questioned on the possibility of a longer contract for Joe, Lee said that it is something that could happen

“It’s all ifs and buts, he has to come and do well and then that’s something that we might talk about. But as it stands, the most important thing was that he gets in and is training to try and get his fitness up.”

Unfortunately(or fortunately), I was not at the Middlesbrough game so I couldn’t get a good look at how he did, however judging by most peoples reactions he didn’t quite make an instant impact.

A few years ago if you told me Joe Ledley would be playing for Charlton today I would be chuffed, but it looks like that vision from a few years ago has decended into desperation rather than wanting him as our injury crisis is the main reason we signed him, but it is starting to thin out now with Lyle Taylor making a return and Jonny Williams also back within the coming weeks.
