Lee Bowyer announces very worrying news

|

Injuries of late have been hard to deal with for The Addicks staff as we are looking at having at least TEN players out for the game against Cardiff at The Valley on Saturday.

Lee Bowyer had his weekly press conference today and announced that we will not be able to fill the bench as we will have to put a load of inexperienced kids on the bench which is not ideal at all.

Here is what the gaffer had to say in his press conference this morning

“We’ve only got a 23 or 22-man squad and we’ve got 10 out, that is nearly half. If it carries on then we won’t be able to put out a starting 11.

“The only position we are strong is at the back. There are not many to choose from in midfield three. The ones available are Conor Gallagher, Josh Cullen and Erhun Oztumer.

“I think we’ll maybe have to look at playing a different way. We’ll go through a couple of things this morning – some shape work – to see what looks good for the players we have.

“It’s tricky, definitely tricky.”

This really does go to show that we need to bring in some depth in January and hopefully, with Steve Gallen now being a director, he might be able to convince Roland to spend some money come the turn of the year.

We seem to be just one or two injuries away from a complete breakdown in the squad which is very worrying for the club as a whole, the only reason we are struggling so bad is that we have one of if not the smallest squad in the division and thats something that needs to be addressed as soon as possible, if it is possible that is.

It’s time to get your money out Roland!
