Charlton manager and miracle worker Lee Bowyer has been attracting a lot of interest from certain Championship clubs as of late, but is there really anything behind these links?
THE FACTS
Earlier last season Lee Bowyer was linked to a move with Championship strugglers and cash strapped Queens Park Rangers but turns out it was nothing but speculation. Just a few days ago Bowyer was also linked with the Derby County job, if Frank Lampard was to leave to The Rams, once again nothing came of it and turns out it was speculation once more.
Now we have the latest rumour which links Bowyer to West Brom who will be looking to get back into the Premier League with the upcoming Championship season just a couple months away, so they will want to get this deal done as soon as they possibly can.
MY OPINION
Whilst all these links have gone away at some point West Brom do seem like a decent pick for Bowyer if he was to leave, but I still don’t think there is much solid evidence behind it other than the speculation that he will be going places and with Bowyer doing the job he has been doing, there is going to a lot of that going around.
Whilst it is still very much possible we could see Bowyer leave this summer, it is also worth noting that Bowyer has every intention to stay with the club as long as he gets a fair contract that he fully deserves. I don’t like how long the club is taking with this and we do need to hear something from the club soon just to ease our minds on this situation. From what I know nothing was going to be done before today because, Bowyer being on holiday, but I am expecting something in the next few days or even next week, but hopefully something will be announced today or tomorrow.

I am now seriously concerned about what’s happening at Charlton and I guess I’m not alone. We are shipping players out at a rate of knots; Duchatelet obviously didn’t want promotion and I’m just waiting for a statement that Lee Bowyer won’t be offered a contract.
