Is Josh Wright Ready to Step Up?

One of the most highly rated talents outside of the Premier League (let alone at the Valley) is our midfielder Josh Wright, but is the time right for him to make his Addicks bow.

The 18-year-old has been out on loan at League Two Barnet this season and after his three-month stint he recently returned. He marked his second reserve outing (on Tuesday night) since this return with a goal for Mark Kinsella’s side against Brighton. We might have lost the match 3-1 but his free kick curled into the top corner showed what he can do.

Premier League scouts have been watching him, and Alan Pardew himself has said that he will probably get his chance during the course of the season so is now not the right time for the England under 19 star to start working his way into the first team picture, if not the Addicks starting midfield?

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Josh Wright? Is it time for him to be given a chance? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

  • Charlton Addickt says:

At the very least I think that he must soon be put into the match day squads, he could then be eased in as a substitute if needed but he is almost certainly good enough so I think he should be given a go sooner rather than later.
