So now he has gone we are now left with a task that Lee Bowyer and Steve Gallen probably wish they didn’t have to deal with and that task will be no easy one. It’s no secret Grant has been a major part of our side as we go for promotion and deal with all these difficulties with real professionalism, but I think we can replace him a lot easier than most people think. Now my theory this season is that Grant has only shot up like this because of Lyle Taylor, Taylor has been the main man in our side this season and hopefully, he stays here for the rest of his career if keeps playing the way he does.

Going back on to my theory I think it could be the case that Taylor has made Grant look good, now if we look back on Grant’s Charlton career as a whole it’s has not been up to standard. When he made his Charlton debut up until last season he has looked horribly out of his depth as former Charlton manager Bob Peeters decided to give him a chance. After loans to Cambridge and Crawley who are both in League Two respectively, he struggled with Cambridge even though it was a short time and he thrived at Crawley scoring nine goals in fifteen games. Now he has had a good six months at Charlton and I really don’t think he is ready for the Premier League so replacing him won’t be that hard I don’t think.

Now there are some fantastic strikers out there and one of them we have been linked with is none other than Bristol City outcast Mo Eisa. There has been a hell of a lot of talk about him on the Charlton Facebook groups and also a few reports on Twitter have linked us with the Sudanese Striker. Other than that, we have not had many words on his replacement, but if we really want to make an impression with the rest of the league and actually get promotion we may have to look to a Premier League loanee.

We need someone who is quick or even someone who has experience as a winger so we know he has the pace just like Karlan did and then transition him into a striker alongside Taylor and with him feeding our new striker they both get goals guaranteed.

All I know for sure is our time is running out and we need to get someone in ASAP.
