Another of our youngsters have gone out on loan and after a very impressive pre-season Brendan Wiredu will be looking to impress once again in Essex as he joins Colchester United until January.
The 19-year-old managed 4 goals in 4 games in pre-season and is being touted to be the next big Charlton youngster and I agree with most of the fans on this one, because he will be a great player.
He can play in centre-midfield and from right-back to right-wing as he explores those few positions to find his strongest suit, so far it looks like he will be playing on the right a lot.
The Us recently lost their main right-back Kane Vincent-Young to Ipswich in the summer and in a bid to strengthen that position they have opted for Brendan. It’s worth noting Kane also attracted interest from Charlton too.
Let’s hope he will shine in League Two just like we all expect him to. Good luck Brendan and we will see you in January!
