Hemed provides his first words as a Charlton player

|

After weeks of unnecessary waiting, former Brighton striker Tomer Hemed is now officially a Charlton Athletic player.

He comes in with good reviews from Brighton fans and I have also seen some of them say they need to move on from what they were in the Championship, so looks like we have got a great player on our hands.

Hemed spoke with the club’s website as his transfer finally got confirmed by the EFL.

“I am very happy to be here, I am excited to be here and start the season with the team. I’ve already missed a few games, so I can’t wait for the next one and to be involved and be a part of the rest of the season.

“They’ve brought me here to score goals first of all, so obviously I will do my best every game to help the team. If it’s to score goals or give assists in any way, just to help the team to get the points and achieve the targets for this season.”

Sounds like he is a hard worker and that is what Charlton thrive off, it’s how we win games by not giving up and playing to the whistle.

The Israeli international also spoke about his intentions of passing on his knowledge to the younger players which is always something we love to see here in SE7.

“It’s amazing for us, it’s something that we didn’t know would happen from the start, then we started to hear about it and we started to think about going together from Brighton to here.

“In Brighton they know the story about us. As kids, we played together in Israel with Maccabi Haifa’s youth team. So, for us it’s amazing to be here together and keep going together and I’m sure that both of us will do our best for the team.”

Sounds like Hemed and Kayal have a great partnership and I certainly hope it shines at The Valley because these two could really be something special in a Charlton shirt.

Both players were great for Brighton and I am sorry to see them go they could have still done a job with there skill and 100% effort. It may be best for them with the competition, have a good season we might see you in the cup.

I’ve been a Brighton fan for 55 years, and I can reassure all Charlton fans that you have now got 2 players that will play 100% for you. They are both fighters and both good skillful players.
All the best to you Tomer and Bream.

Kayal was a great player in the Championship and stood out from half the team, even in the Premiership he always worked hard and I was really surprised he left to go to Charlton.

Hemed works hard and has some great qualities, in the first year in the Premiership he scored a couple of fantastic goals early on then i think he got injured. He is a great player for Charlton, again can’t believe he has gone to a newly promoted side.

These 2 won’t let you down, good luck to both players and hope to see Charlton playing Brighton soon: it’s always a good day out to the Valley :0)
