Gritt Moving On

Another spell at Charlton is about to end for Steve Gritt, who will not see his contract extended.

The academy manager, and former joint manager with Alan Curbishley in the early-mid 1990’s isn’t being offered a new contract when this expires at the end of this week.

Gritt has helped bring through and develop some of the youngsters at SE7 in recent times since his return to the club, including some of the current first-team and Jonjo Shelvey who was sold to Liverpool at the end of last season.

His departure is a cost cutting measure and isn’t related to his performance, why would it be. It’s a shame and I wish Steve all the best of luck for the future, ours will be poorer without him.
