Forster’s Continued Career isn’t at SE7?

Nicky Forster’s loan deal with Charlton runs until the end of the season when his Brighton & Hove Albion contract also ends, most don’t think we’ll see him return here next season.

By gaining 80% of the vote in a recent Vital Charlton Poll (from Charlton Addickt) the 36-year-old isn’t expected to be an Addicks player again next season with the striker expected to be seeking a new club.

If we don’t secure promotion and Phil Parkinson stays at SE7 as money will be seriously limited I think that Forster could stay with us as I’m not sure we’ll have many more better options, and he could still do a job at League 1 level. If we’re back in The Championship (as we’d hope) then I don’t think the striker will be going with us.

The remaining 20% think he’ll return regardless.

The full round up of that poll can be found on the view all polls section to the right just above the current poll, which of course needs your vote!

I agree. He could, certainly, justify retention if we remain in League 1. However, promotion might give us a bit of cash to buy a younger striker.

I think I’m in agreement with that, at League One level he’d get another year but in the Championship, where we will be, it’ll be a bit too much at his age.

Forster still looks hungry, and has a battling quality…we could do worse but surely there is a hungry young gun out there who can do a job for us
