Flop Jimmy First To Go

The 35-year-old scored just two league goals in 25 Premiership appearances for the Addicks as well as a brace against Chesterfield in the Carling Cup.

However, the Holland international’s last goal was in the Addicks’ 3-1 home defeat by his former team Middlesbrough in January and his presence was not enough to save us from relegation to the Championship.

Hasselbaink joined the south-east London club last summer on a free transfer from Boro where he had spent two successful seasons.

It is believed that Hasselbaink was on big money at The Valley and due to the financial loss from relegation the club have had to send him packing.

I would now usually thank a departing player for all their hard work and effort but Jimmy has done nothing to deserve such credit.

Good Bye and Good Riddance

No real surprise there. But can he still hack it in the Premiership?

  • Red Red Robin says:

He is no longer a Prem player. Funny the club hasn’t confirmed he has left yet maybe they want to announce it when we have a new player in the bag.
