Ex-Charlton youngster forced to retire

|

Ex-Charlton youngster Mikhail Kennedy has been sadly forced to retire after being injured on and off for around three years and he has taken to Twitter to announce his retirement.

Kennedy was released from Charlton in the summer of last year after showing no signs of improvement in his injuries which extremely limited his game time for the Addicks and on-loan at VDC Athletic, Derry City and Chelmsford City but only made a handful of appearances.

The Northern-Irishman did show a glimpse of what he could do in the EFL Cup back in 2015 as we swept aside Peterborough United 4-1 at London Road as he grabbed himself a poacher’s goal and an assist, he played the full 90 minutes against The Posh.

Kennedy made a total of 21 appearances and scored twice whilst out on loan at VDC, Derry, Chelmsford and Concord, but he just couldn’t keep up with his fitness.

The 23-year-old took to Twitter to announce his retirement and here is what he had to say

Such a sad situation for him to be in, but thanks for your service to Charlton, and I wish you all the best for the future!
