ESI’s takeover of Charlton Athletic has been rejected as the future has been plunged into uncertainty

|

This was kind of expected to happen but ESI have been rejected to takeover Charlton Athletic after three individuals were subject to a ‘disqualifying condition’ which has now plunged Charlton’s future into absolute uncertainty.

Can you get 25/25 on this former Charlton players quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who is this?

It has also been mentioned that other applicants will be heard and we are all hoping that it will be Peter Varney and Andrew Barclay as they push to purchase the club and its assets such as The Valley and Sparrows Lane.

None of us are quite sure what is going to happen next, but the transfers for Alex Gilbey and Conor Washington look to have both been rejected by The EFL.

If you are not worried about this situation then I think you should be because the season starts in just over a month, we can’t sign any players until this whole mess has been sorted plus we now have no ways of investment.

On the other hand this could be something we have all been wanting, ESI are gone, but does this now mean that the ownership will fall back to Tahnoon Nimer? If that is the case I really hope he can bow out of this mess by doing something good for the club and selling up to Varney and Barclay who we know will be saviours we so desperately need plus we need the EFL to just let something good happen to the club, because I just don’t know how much more us Charlton fans can take.

  • Brian Fallon says:

Charlton should be owned by its supporters. It’s the only way to ensure we are owned and run by people who actually care about the club.
