Young right-back Anfernee Dijksteel has impressed fans with his 39 appearances last season starting ahead of vice-captain Chris Solly for most of last season’s games. But now he has been attracting interest from Jonathan Woodgate’s Middlesbrough as they look to convince the Dutchman to transfer to the Riverside.
Charlton to offer Dijksteel a new contract amid Middlesbrough interest

According to The Standard, Anfernee Dijksteel will be offered a new contract amidst rumours that Middlesbrough are interested in signing up the 22-year-old. With just one year left on his current deal, Anfernee could be one of a host of names that have left The Valley on a cheap throughout the years.
It’s no surprise that Dijksteel is attracting attention, he has been performing well and he is still young, Anfernee has a bright future ahead in football and hopefully, he can have that bright future with us. I think Dijksteel needs to stay with us to further his development, he will get first-team football here if he can prove to everyone he can do it in the Championship and with Bowyer signing a contract extension – the Dutchman could sign an extension himself.
It would be great if we can get him signed back on, we need to start trying to keep hold of our players, I know it’s not really got anything to do with Bowyer and the recruitment staff, it is all Roland. However, with the takeover being heavily suggested to be closer than ever, we are all holding out hope that we will be able to give our players the contracts they deserve instead of losing them to other teams more superior contract offers.
From what I’m hearing about this potential takeover it could be done at the start of July, which would be brilliant because then we still have another month to bolster the squad with a bit of cash and if that does happen who knows where we will finish?
