Charlton new boy Chris Dickson has a whole host of clubs lining up for a loan deal.

Dickson, 22, joined the Addicks from non-league outfit Dulwich Hamlet in March. Joining outside the transfer window the young forward was only allowed to make reserve appearances where he quickly made an early impression, scoring seven goals in six games.

Alan Pardew rates Dickson as one for the future and the Charlton boss is hoping to send him out on loan for some much needed experience.

The youngster has held talks with Kent side Gillingham but it seems there is a whole host of other clubs knocking on the door.

Southampton, Stoke and Barnsley have all joined the race for Dickson and the player now has to decide where he wants to go.

Alan Pardew has confirmed that Dickson has already been approached by Gillingham over a move.

Pardew told the official website: ‘I took a gamble on Chris. I think he has something none of our other strikers have, he has that ability to conjure up a goal out of almost nothing.

‘The other side of his game is not as good as our other strikers, the technical side of where he should be and his movement and getting him on the ball, so he has lots of things to learn.

‘One of the ways to do that might be to loan him out to gain some experience and he went down to Gillingham to have a look around.

‘I feel I will probably loan him out initially but don’t think that he might not have a major impact on this team later in the season.’

Dickson does look like a bright star and Pardew’s talent spotting might have just un-earthed another gem.
