Bent is believed to be one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer market following Charlton’s relegation from the Premiership. He has already been linked with moves to Liverpool, West Ham, Tottenham and a season-long loan switch to Arsenal.
West Ham boss Alan Curbishley brought the 23-year-old to the club from Ipswich in July 2005 when he was in charge of the Addicks and recent speculation has suggested he is set for a big-money move to the Hammers.
But the £15million-rated striker insists nothing is happening at the moment and, although he is keen to play in the Premiership, he did not rule out spending a season in the Championship with Charlton.
He told Charlton’s official website: ‘In terms of my situation I’ve not heard anything and I haven’t spoken to the manager or the chairman.
‘Obviously the club feels two more strikers are needed and it gives the manager food for thought.
‘I don’t think it’s all about me. Charlton have done a lot for me; I love the club and I love the fans, who have been brilliant with me.
‘Of course when you are young you want to play in the best league in the country and that’s the Premiership, so I’m disappointed we went down this season. But I’ve got no doubt whatsoever that we can return straight away next year.’
He added: ‘You hear this, that and the other. As soon as Curbs got the West Ham job there were stories and then there was lots of speculation during January but nothing’s happening to my knowledge.
‘I’m just going to go away and get myself 100 percent fit for next season and take it from there.’
We Love you to Darren…

Why can’t there be more players like Benty? Nice to hear him come out and speak so well of the club. Top bloke
Fair play to him, most players in his situation would be smelling the big signing on fee and asking his agent to sort out a transfer, seems to be he is leaving his future down to the club. What a pro
Wouldn’t mind him at the Lane next season but don’t know wether him and Defoe could ever play together. Good to hear him talking like that though, players need to be a bit more genuine now a days. And as much as I belive what he says I still think he will leave you. But genuinely good luck next season in coming back up
ohh well
If he does stay than well done to him – loyalty is a dying breed in todays game.
ALways rated Bent as a bloke and a player, think he is top notch, Good luck to Charlton next year boys, Think you should sign Bo Myhill from Hull as your keeper, he is a mate of mine and 1 hell of a keeper!
Personally I dont want Darren bent in our team. I think you lot need him next season but I think he will stay where he is.
Hes gotta be a tad loyal, after all the club are pricing him out of a move with their ridiculous valuation!
