Dagnall and Loanees Interest Charlton

Phil Parkinson has admitted that he would like to sign Chris Dagnall from Rochdale, however the financial constraints on The Addicks boss are preventing him from making a move.

Dagnall helped Rochdale achieve promotion from League 2 into League 1 last season and the 24-year-old striker has been watched by Parkinson but no move can be made for him, or others until he knows what budget he’ll have to work with this summer, Parkinson told the South London Press: “Chris is a player we watched last season and he`s a good young forward.

“But we`re not able to go for anyone yet.”

I think it’s going to be a frustrating summer at SE7 and only monies generated from player sales will help Parkinson with new arrivals, even then he’ll not have much to play with.

David Mooney, Nicky Forster, Gary Borrowdale, Kyel Reid and Matt Fry are also players that could interest Parkinson but all back with their clubs following loan spells at Charlton last season.

Parkinson would be interested in deals (most likely loan deals given our financial position) for some, if not all of them again next season but once again The Addicks boss said that he doesn’t know what he can do until the board confirm what money he has, Parkinson told the South London Press: “As it stands those players have all gone back.

“They`ve all made contributions but until the board confirm what money we`ll have to spend on wages, I`m not in a position to look at bringing players in.”

Reid and Fry would be the most likely to return on loan I would have thought but as Forster is out of contract, and wouldn’t be demanding too much in wages I could see the sense in offering him a contract and think that we will as we’re staying in League 1.

It’ll be a fairly quiet summer at The Valley so I think we need to prepare ourselves for limited movement, the only movement we will see will be limited to free transfers on low wages and loan moves that isn’t to say that we couldn’t pick up some good signings, some of the better players could be forced to leave though?

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on interest in Chris Dagnall and the loanees? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Dear Phil, may I suggest you have no money to play with ,in fact CAFC are in serious financial trouble…but I have faith in you to work a majestic miracle and get us promoted this comming season
