Charlton chairman Martin Simons has quashed rumours that manager Alan Curbishley could be moving to Rangers.

With Alex McLeish under increasing pressure our very own Curbs is amongst the favourites to replace him, however the Chairman has insisted that Curbs has no interest in moving from Charlton.

‘Alan is very happy in London and I don’t see him going to Glasgow,’said the chairman.

‘We’ve had no contact from Rangers, no official approach has been made. He’s our manager and is staying at The Valley. I’ve spoken to him this week and he didn’t mention anything about a Rangers link. I expect him to be at Charlton for some time.

‘He has a couple of years left on his contract and we would not entertain any moves Rangers might be considering to try to tempt him to Ibrox.’
