Contract Situation Has To Be A Priority

|

We are now at the midpoint of the season and with many of our players out of contract at the end of this campaign, now is the time where other clubs will be circling around our squad for some pre-contract agreements.

So far, we have twelve players out of contract at the end of the season and four others leaving as their loan spells come to an end, so if all of those players were to leave we would be left with just seven players which is just shocking and it shows this takeover needs to be done as soon as possible.

In recent news, Scottish Premier League side Rangers are looking at Karlan Grant and understandably so, he has scored thirteen goals this season and he has really stepped up as he has come into his twenties after being out on loan at Cambridge and Crawley.

The full list of players out of contract and loans ending at the end of the season are below.

Krystian Bielik

Jake Forster-Caskey

Jonny Williams

Josh Cullen

Igor Vetokele

Patrick Bauer

Chris Maxwell

Chris Solly

Billy Clarke

Ben Reeves

Ben Purrington

Mark Marshall

Tariqe Fosu

Karlan Grant

Joe Aribo

George Lapslie

So as you can see just about everyone on that list is in some shape or form a major part of the club some more important to get on a contract than others, but there are a couple we could let go such as Igor Vetokele and Billy Clarke who are injury prone and don’t seem to offer too much for the club. Yes, Billy Clarke has been out for a while, but I just can’t see him getting back into the team as a regular maybe his time at Charlton is already over but only time will tell.

Bottom line is we need to get the majority of this list on a contract right now because we already have teams looking at our squad and thinking who they can pinch off us, so the Australians and Americans really need to step up their pursuit of Charlton, pump some money in to the club and get our players safe.
