Class Jensen Retires

Possibly one of Charlton’s best ever players has retired at the age of 30.

Claus Jensen has called time on his playing career after struggling with injuries.

The ex-Denmark international, who made 133 appearances for Charlton and scored 17 goals, was released by Fulham over the summer.

Some fans had hoped Pardew would make an attempt to bring Jensen back to The Valley, but the former Bolton man has called it quits.

Jensen was brought to the club from Bolton in a £4million deal back in 2000 and had a four year spell with the Addicks. Always a favourite with The Valley crowd Jensen formed one of the best partnerships in the Premiership when he partnered Scotty Parker in the centre.

Speaking to Sky sports Jensen said: ‘I have decided to put an end to my professional career.’ ‘I am not lacking the desire, the ambitions and enjoyment to play.

‘It’s my body which signals which it can’t cope with football on the top level.’

‘I only got pains when I play football.’

Good Luck Claus you are a Charlton Legend.
