Charlton’s Young next to go?

Former Charlton club captain Luke Young is being linked to a summer exit from Charlton Athletic.

Reports are today suggesting Luke Young will be the next Charlton player to leave the club.

Young who once was our club captain missed a lot of last season due to injury and on his return never looked the same player. His fitness has had question marks against it since his return and his play on the field just seemed to be lacking something.

Charlton are now believed to be keen to off load the former England international to add more funds to Alan Pardew`s shopping budget.

Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is a known admirer of Young`s and he could make a bid for the former Spurs defender this week.

Charlton signed France Under-21 skipper Yassin Moutaouakil on Wednesday and he could well be Youngy’s replacement.

Should Newcastle make a move they could face competition from Bolton, West Ham, Villa and Everton.

£3 million will be enough to see the Charlton board allow Young to move on.
