Charlton youngster reveals all about his medical problems

|

One of Charlton’s best players currently is none other than 19-year-old Conor Gallagher, he recently made his full debut for The England U21s and even scored in their 3-0 win over Albania this weekend.

Recently the Chelsea youngster opened up about his struggles with a minor heart surgery he had a short while back and now he has come back stronger and is looking like one of the best young players about, for that, we are privileged to have him at Charlton this season.

Speaking with The Daily Mail this weekend Gallagher spoke about his setback

‘It definitely drives me on because it’s a bit of a scare, isn’t it?’

‘It makes you appreciate it more when you’re out there on the pitch playing.

‘You have to give 100 per cent because every single one of us is lucky to be here. Ever since it happened, after the surgery, I’ve just wanted to prove myself.

‘I’ve come back fitter, stronger. I’ve set myself small targets and I feel that is the better way to do it because I didn’t expect to be starting on Friday night and I did and then did well. I can set more targets.’

We can certainly see he appreciates being out there on the pitch, it makes his performances even more impressive knowing he has gone through all of this in the past and he has come back stronger because of it. Who would have thought this lad has a heart problem whilst playing football with 100% effort every time.

It is truly remarkable how he has kicked on from a setback which could have cost him his football career but look at him now!
