Charlton Sign Seip On Loan

Phil Parkinson has dipped into the transfer market to bring in Marcel Seip to Charlton on loan.

The Plymouth Argyle defender has come to SE7 on loan until January to act as cover for Christian Dailly who will be suspended for four games following his sending off against Yeovil Town on Saturday.

Parkinson is happy to have the 28-year-old on board, Parkinson told The Official Website: “With Christian suspended and the loan window closing on Thursday, it was important we moved quickly to bring Marcel in.

“He’s a defender who can play right-back and centre-back, and we just felt we needed another player like him in the squad.

“He wants to get some games here, and we look forward to working with him. He goes straight into the squad for the Bristol Rovers game.”

Seip, who was on loan with Blackpool and Sheffield United last season and should make his Addicks debut against Bristol Rovers tonight, as the defender should move straight into the starting XI with Dailly out.
