Charlton Sign A Striker!!!!!

Charlton’s striking options have been boosted by the arrival of Pawel Abbott from Oldham Athletic.

Pawel has signed a two-year contract to become Friday’s second signing, we also had an offer for Dagenham & Redbridge striker Paul Benson turned down.

A nominal fee has been paid for the 28-year-old with Phil Parkinson happy with his days work, Parkinson told The Official Website: “It’s been a good day and it’s great news to have Pawel on board.

“We know we are short in the striker department. Pawel is another player I’ve known for a while and I watched him for many years when he was at Huddersfield Town.

“He’s a big target man who is always a goal threat, and he’s got a good goalscoring record.”

The Polish striker scored 13 goals for Oldham last season so we’ll be hoping that he can replicate this for us this season. Abbott and fellow new arrival Simon Francis are expected to feature against Watford tomorrow.
