Charlton gaffer Chris Powell has reiterated that he is not in a position to add to his squad following links to striker Thomas Dossevi.
The 33-year-old forward has been linked with a move to Charlton this week. The Togo international who has experience of life in England with Swindon Town is a free agent after leaving Thai club Chonburi.
When asked about the striker Powell knew who he was, but dismissed reports we were set to sign him.
“Was he at Swindon? I`ve said it before and been on record before – we are not in a position to bring players in unless one or two move on.
“That`s been well-documented by me. Powell told london24.com.
He added: ‘of course if you`re in a position to move players and bring in players that will enhance you, then you will always look to do that.”
On transfer deadline day Danny Green and Bradley Wright-Phillips were both set to depart the Valley for Swindon Town on loan but the move was blocked by the Football League.
It was a move that would have benefited all parties, the players would be playing regular football, Swindon could have bolstered their squad for their promotion push and we could have had the chance to bring in fresh faces.
But despite the disappointment, Powell revealed that the duo have reacted positively.
“Their attitude has been first class.
“While they are here, and while they are under my management, they will always be first class players and first class human beings because that is what they are.
