Charlton have finally received some solid transfer news, this time in the form of a bid for Bristol Rovers star striker Jonson Clarke-Harris with a £1million deal plus add-ons.
The Rovers frontman has scored nine goals in his last seventeen appearances, but his future has been somewhat up in the air lately with interest coming from Middlesborough and Sheffield Wednesday all being linked with the 25-year-old.
Charlton are so far spearheading the chase for the prolific striker, but according to Bristol Live The Gas are likely to reject this initial offer.
Hull City made a bid for the striker which was a £450k offer that was rejected by Rovers.
Tom Lockyer was also part of the squad that survived a League One relegation battle with Rovers, Clarke-Harris played a pivotal part of their survival so Lockyer could have an influence on Jonson’s decision if this bid is to be accepted.
We have all been waiting for some kind of news in the form of transfers and finally, we have that. Clarke-Harris would be a great addition to the team and I trust Gallen and Bowyer on this one as his form in recent years has been something any team around our level could do with.
