Charlton could be pulled out of disaster as former Swansea City chairman has firm interest

|

It has been nothing but doom and gloom inside the Charlton fanbase since the true motives of ESI became public knowledge and we have had disaster owner Laurence Bassini linked with us in this time so you can see why the anxiety around The Addicks is at an all-time high.

Can you get 31/31 on this Charlton player of the year quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who won player of the year in 2020?

However, Charlton could be pulled out of disaster as former Swansea City chief Huw Jenkins is apparently interested in acquiring the South-London club.

Jenkins took Swansea to the Premier League in his time in charge and Darren Pratley also played a pivotal role in their playoff semi-final campaign as he struck from the halfway line to secure their place at Wembley.

He does sound like a good fit from the things I have heard about him and it has been reported by The Sun that he will inject cash into the troubled club right away to secure wages that will have to be paid by the end of the month.

He left his position at Swansea due to a bust-up with the player sales as he said the players were being sold for a low amount of money, sounds like a perfect fit so far!

However, there were calls from Swansea fans a while ago calling for the 57-year-old to step down after the takeover by Americans Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan fell flat for the Swans fans.

One other worrying thing is that Chris Farnell works for Huw Jenkins who is the same lawyer of Tahnoon Nimer, small world.

Apparently he did stall over fears of no fans due to Coronavirus, but he has been looking at Charlton for the last few weeks and has a firm interest in us.

Let’s hope this is all true and he can help us out of the hole we have been dug into and he sorts this out sooner rather than later, apparently, he could takeover by as early as next week!

    Frankly…I’ve had enough.
The beautiful game just plain isn’t anymore.
Charlton have a ‘star’ who was so happy when he came to the valley, declaring that he was a Greenwich boy coming home. That same player is now complaining about his wage, saying that he could be earning more playing in league one and was told he would be sold, but that ‘promise’ was broken. I have two comments on that:
    1. His wage per week is very likely to be more than the run of mill supporter earns in a year.
    2. Loyalty to any club from any player is a thing of the past.
Football is now a money game (thanks Nimer, thanks Southall). For me it’s all over.
