Phil Parkinson made Alexander Stavrinou and Tamer Tuna available for loan recently and Stavrinou has become the first of these two Charlton youngsters to make a loan move.

The midfielder has joined Cambridge United for a month with Martin Ling (Cambridge’s boss) happy to have the 20-year-old on board, Ling said: “I saw Alex play a couple of times for Ebbsfleet last year and I’ve also seen him play for Charlton reserves.

“I spoke to Phil Parkinson, he’s a player they rate highly and feel he needs to get games.

“He’s a tenacious but also technical central midfielder who can do both sides of the game. He’ll be in the starting line-up on Sunday. It’s a month-loan initially and we’ll asses what happens after that.”
