Alan Pardew and the boys have left the grey skies of England behind for a week.

The Championship favourites are in sunny Spain for a pre-season tour.

The Addicks will spend a week in Malaga as Alan Pardew’s squad build up their fitness and play two friendly matches in the sun.

Ten new faces are amongst the squad as Pardew hopes the boys start to click with only a month left until the season starts.

While the boys are put through their paces before topping up their tans, the rumour mill back home has gone into over drive.

The most likely of the stories is the £1.5m bid for Mk Dons front man Izale McLeod. The 22-year-old has scored 60 goals in 135 appearances for the Dons and is being lined up by the Addicks as a replacement for Darren Bent, who joined Spurs in a £16.5million deal.

Other players being linked are, Lee Bowyer, David Thompson, Chelsea`s Ben Sahar and Danny Murphy of all people.

As soon as there`s any news Vital Charlton will have it first!

Think you will go up at the first attempt. Pardew is used to the Championship.
