Bowyer reveals his stance in the transfer window

|

As Charlton fans in the current situation we are in now, we are all anxious to get some bodies into the squad which will be a massive help going forward in regards to our player’s fitness as some of them are just simply worn out.

However we can’t just go all out in the transfer market, Charlton’s transfers under Bowyer and Gallen have been very careful which means you don’t see more than 2 coming in each week as they look at a lot more factors than what most scouts and recruiters do.

Bowyer spoke with The South London Press this morning about his current stance in the window and here is what he had to say

“We are trying to bring players in, whether there will be bids for Lyle, I cannot control.  But we are trying to improve the squad. The chairman recognises the amount of injuries we have. We made two offers. We are trying really hard.

“We will not go crash-bang-wallop. It is a steady process of improving the squad. We have already brought in Andre Green from Aston Villa. We are hoping these two bids come off. But January is a tough time – no club wants to lose players because then they have to replace them, so it can take more time than you would like.”

One of those bids is understood to be Harlee Dean from Birmingham City as we look to solve our defensive woes with just 4 clean sheets so far this season.

The second bid could be Alex Mowatt from Barnsley, he was linked with us last week. Or it could potentially be Marcus Maddison from Peterborough, either way, both of them would be quality signings.
