Bowyer reveals Aribo’s contract intentions

|

Joe Aribo has been fantastic for us this season, he has scored goals, created goals and has been brilliant in on the ball situations with his long legs doing all the work. However, as his contract comes closer and closer to ending us Charlton fans are all on the edge of our seats with this situation and we all want Joe to sign on as soon as possible.

Lee Bowyer held his press conference this morning, unfortunately I could not make it today to ask him any questions, but we still got some answers and Bowyer spoke with the South London Press regarding Joe Aribo’s contract here’s what he had to say…

“Myself and Steve Gallen had a good chat with Joe on Thursday. Joe wants to sign and stay. It’s just a matter of coming to an agreement with his agent, that’s what it is going to come down to.

“Joe knows this is a good place for him to be. He knows this is a good club. That’s what he said to us – and that he wants to keep learning from us. It’s obvious Joe’s agent has got a job to do, but we just have to keep letting Joe know how important he is to us. It’s also about telling him how important it is for his career that he keeps playing games.”

Well is that good news or what! I’m very pleased that he has said he wants to stay here, because he has come so far since he arrived from Staines and is defiantly one of the best players in the team. However his agent is also the same agent of Josh Maja and Ademola Lookman and he looks like he may have had a say in their transfers as well, Maja left Sunderland this season for Bordeaux and as we all know Lookman left for Everton and both players don’t really feature for their teams that much and by the look of it Joe’s agent will want him to go to a top team.

Only problem with this is that Joe needs to play games to progress his career and he can defiantly be a great player in the next few years for any team, but he needs the games so the best thing for him to do will be staying at Charlton for now and progressing even further.
