Bowyer on Jake Forster-Caskey and Lewis Page’s injuries and his contract situation

|

Well, today was my first ever press conference and it was great to be sitting there with Lee Bowyer as we discussed the future regarding his contract, Lewis Page and Jake Forster-Caskey’s injuries.

I spoke with Lee Bowyer and he had this to say when I asked him about Jake Forster-Caskey’s injury “He’s outside running and striking balls. He’s a little way off joining us in training, but seeing him out there is a great sight because he’s an exceptional player and we miss him. You never know, we might get him back for a couple of games at the end of the season.”

The next question I asked was on the progress of Lewis Page “Lewis Page has a tendon problem that the medical team are looking after. He’s sorted out the groin problem, but now he’s got this. I hope we’ll see him by the end of the season because it’s been a long time.”

We all want an update on the contract situation so I tried to get as much out of him as I can and asked him if the players would be more willing to sign if he and Johnnie Jackson committed their future first here’s what he had to say:

“I’ve not been approached about a new contract so I can’t make that happen. It’s out of my control, but the most important thing is that we’re tying the lads down. I’m sure something will happen with me and Jacko, it just hasn’t happened yet.”

And that’s the lot from Vital Charlton’s first ever press conference. It was a great experience to be there inside the training ground and I hope to go to more in the future to give all of you a good fans view!
