Bowyer gives us an injury bost ahead of the Plymouth game

Injuries have started to plague us again, but thankfully no new long-term ones to report at this moment of time. But Charlton have been handed an injury boost ahead of the away fixture at Plymouth Argyle in the form of the commanding presence of Krystian Bielik as the Polish U21 international has started training again yesterday following his injury that he suffered against Portsmouth with a hamstring problem.

Also, some news on two players who have been out for the long-term are Lewis Page and Jake Forster-Caskey, JFC is back in contact training whist Lewis Page is in non-contact training.

Manager Lee Bowyer had this to say whist speaking with News Shopper

“Krystian’s training, he’ll be back in tomorrow and in the squad, Page is training and Jake is back training properly, with contact. We have to be careful with him but there’s steady progress. It depends on him whether he plays before the end of the season. Without being stupid we need to get him to the level the other lads are on and he’ll be amongst it. He’s got a lot to catch up on in a short space of time.”

Good to hear about Jake after he was ruled out for the season before it even began, at least now he’s playing some football on the training pitch and doing that is only going to lead to him doing bigger and better things at the club. It’s a shame that Lewis Page gets injured as much as he does because he is a decent player who deserves a lot of game time, but with him being very prone to these long-term injuries his future at Charlton is probably threatened by that.

Jake Forster-Caskey will be involved in an U23s game in the coming weeks to see how he gets on in that and hopefully that will spark him back to full fitness.
