Big Praise for Little Man Solly

Chris Solly might be a small man but he has a big heart and put in a big performance against Stockport last weekend.

This has seen the local lad and youth team product earn praise from assistant boss Mark Kinsella, who told BBC Radio Kent: “I think he is an exceptional player.

“He’s been played out of position but he just gets on with it, nothing seems to faze him. People see that he’s 5ft 8in but he’s got a good brain on him.

“He times his runs well, puts in good crosses and rarely gives the ball away. His attitude is outstanding.

“We always bring kids through if they’re good enough and he’s been knocking on the door.”

The 19-year-old left back came on to replace the on loan Johnnie Jackson on Saturday and did his chances of earning a new contract now harm at all. Solly’s current contract expires at the end of the season and I see no reason not to give him a new one really.

Solly isn’t a bad little (pardon the pun) player. I’d agree that I think he’s worth a new contract at the end of the season.
