Addicks striker Marcus Bent is hoping to make his loan move to Wigan a permanent one.
Marcus Bent has scored seven goals in fourteen matches for the Latics during his loan spell so far, and is very much enjoying this, saying that he would be “happy” to sign a permanent deal with the club: “I have come to Wigan to play in the Premier League, try to score goals, and do well for the club and myself,” Marcus Bent told the Wigan Evening Post.
“It’s up to Charlton and Wigan to sort out a deal.
“I would be happy to stay – the people on and off the pitch have been very good to me.”
I don’t think that too many people at the Valley would be disappointed if he did leave permanently, and if he could be sold in January it could give us some funds that we need to raise to buy new players.

He wants to stay, so if we can sell him next month we should, this will raise some funds that we need to to bring in some fresh blood.

He’s yours for a mill! We never quite took to him. He played well on occasions, but not often enough. His tendency to protest to other players to cover his own shortcomings never appealed to me and I won’t miss his attempts to lay the ball off with his chest rather than his head. Failed nine times out of ten.
A million? It would be nice to get one and a half though wouldn’t it.
