Baggies Just Another Game for Pardew

Many people are viewing the Addicks match with West Brom on Saturday as a big six pointer (which it is isn’t it?) but Alan Pardew is playing this down.

As for as the Addicks boss is concerned to a large degree this is merely another match in the context of the season, but he might be able to gage who is the stronger out of the two sides, both of which will be depleted, the Addicks through suspension of key personnel and the Baggies with injuries: “I don’t see it as being anywhere near a crunch game at this point in the season; there are too many important games to go,” Alan Pardew told the Addicks website.

“But I do feel it is an important one on the calendar with regards to how the game unfolds. The result is important, but there might be more to the performance.

“For example, we will want to know how much stronger are we than them, or how much stronger are they than us? That will be a big issue after the game to analyse.”

With the match being shown live as an early Sky Sports offering on Saturday if there could be a winner then they would take over (albeit temporarily) from Watford at the summit of the Championship table, which would be a big psychological boost.
